Slowhawk Built 2010 Camaro runs 9.33 in 1/4

Just giving the basics of this build with the results.
Got in a 2010 Camaro which had a lot of work done to it but unfortunately a blown piston. After inspection the owner decided to go another direction and remove everything that was done previously to the car.
Now working with a clean sheet and a goal of consistant 9.7/9.8. We decided on using the existing block and rods. My local builder put together a 416ci shortblock with compstar crank and wesico pistons to have compression at 9.8-1. We toped this off with ported LSA heads from WCCH driven by our own custom cam (low 230's).

For the rest of the motor we got a lot of used parts off Matt at FSP. He supplied an ECS YSI kit,ID 100lb injectors, Squash fuel system, TH400,9" rear setup with 15" conversion and a set of Weld wheels.

Tuning is done as a Speed density setup(no maf) and 3 bar sensor. We find this gives great drivability, throttle response and consistency.

for fuel we tuned it on 93 octane and a dual nozzle meth setup from Alky control. Trunk mount 4 gallon cell.

On the dyno it gave less than stellar dyno numbers due to the stall, tranny setup but going by the fuel load I knew it had some good track times in it.

First track outing in the spring looked good but showed a lot of converter slip in the higher rpm area's. Car ran a 9.98 at 136mph but was struggling up top. We got back to the shop and ordered a Pro Torque evolution series converter. After installing the converter we knew it was the one.
After a long summer and the owner busy with other hobbies he finally made it to the track. First hit off the trailer did a 9.67 but the track officials called him quickly for no license. End of 1/4's that day but he ran 1/8ths to improve/figure out the launch.
10/10 he went back for license hits and see what the car can do. After almost hot lapping the car all day he was rewarded with a 9.33 and 9.35 at 146mph. This all done on the tune done in the spring(no adjustments) and old #8 plugs.

For now I'll put up the slip and hp graph. Video and car pics will be added shortly.

Thanks
Don

Still has some left. The tune was for the street and safe as it made it all year with no issue's. We will turn it up a little. Only so far we can go on the 4 bolt heads till we start pushing water.

The only consistent goal I had was to keep the car running. Lol. I think we surpassed that 😄
