Evap canister vent solenoid
My car is a 2010 camaro v6 with 45k miles on it. I had taken my car to a local dealer to get it fixed under emissions warranty. I was told that it was not covered and i would have to pay of 1k to fix it. I know that this part is covered under the emissions warranty for 8 years or 80k miles. How do i go about getting this fixed without Flippin out in the dealership?

Go straight to GM call them and have them inform your dealer about the correct information about warranty. Escalate the issue and state your concern, they are usualy cool. Also, different dealer may be in order. Some are just not good at customer service.

You might want to post this in the above section since it is warranty work thedealer is refusing to repair. Chevrolet Customer Service monitors this type of stuff. Good luck and keep pushing until somebody helps you out.

Its not covered under the 8yr 80000 Mi warranty. That only covers major components. Basically just your cats. I know, I've tried. The bumper to bumper is the warranty that should cover it but it looks like yours expired. I can't believe that gm hasn't recalled this. There is a lot of people with this problem

What CEL are you getting? I was getting a P0496 code that referred to the EVAP Canister PURGE Solenoid. It took a $40 part from Advanced AutoParts and about 15 minutes to change out. The purge solenoid is located to the left of the intake manifold and is held in place by a single bolt.

Just had my evap canister replaced with 2 months left on the 3yr warranty. It was a big job for them.. dropped the exhaust, diff, driveshaft, etc.
Hopefully your problem is under the hood.
