Martinsville Speedway Hot Laps
Martinsville Speedway is having an event where you can do 5 "Hot Laps" the rest of this week. The hours are from 9-5 through Friday. They have been doing this since Monday a week ago, but I didn't know about it until today.
Admission is the donation of a toy, or $10.00 per 5 laps. you can run more than 5 laps if you wish. Might be fun just to say you have been on the track. I drove up there a couple of hours ago just to watch first, and there was two Mustangs on the track following a Camry Pace car. They weren't making much speed...No tires squealing in the turns, and they weren't really "pedal to the metal" coming out of the turns either... I have been to three SRT events at VIR, and the drivers of the pace cars would keep pace with the group of cars behind them. As long as everyone could keep up, they would let it rip. These guys at Martinsville, I can't say for sure why, but the first car in the group (of two) stayed half a strait behind the pace car, so maybe the pace was slow because of that. If I do it, I'll try to stay up as tight to the pace car as they will allow. Maybe that would entice the pace car driver to make a little more speed. I think I might go back up there Friday and give it a try. It may be fun, even if it is at a slower pace than I would like. Thought y'all might want to know. Lee |

I have driven at Martinsville a couple of times. It isnt a fast track. Instead it is a technical track. Very low banks so a tight suspension will enjoy the turns.
GET SOMEONE TO TAKE SOME PICTURES !!!
