I bought bmr 1.25" lowering springs. I put the rears on and the body only sits 1/4" lower than before. I really don't get it?

Also, you are supposed to loosen up all the suspension bushings and 'bounce' the car to take the tension off the bushings and help the car settle down.

How would one "bounce" a car?

The bushings have to be "clocked" or "timed". With all the weight of the car on the tires the bolts holding the bushings need to be loosened so they can find their natural position. You will need an alignment so ask the shop to do it. They won't settle unless this is done.

Paul SS is absolutely correct. You need to "time" the bushings anytime you change the ride height.

This thread has directions on the proper way to do the timing.

Absolutely correct. I had my Hotchkis springs installed and the shop told me to drive it around for 100-200 miles, then get the bushings timed and also get an alignment. The car settled and it dropped another 3/4"-1". Good luck!

Get yourself a nice young lady in the back seat and get to helping those springs to settle in!
