SO what's the odds...
So what's the odds of the mighty ZL1 being offered in the 6thGen Camaro?
I have a funny feeling that everyone is expecting the ZL1 to return but GM has made no hint of the ZL1's return in the 6thGen line up. What do you all think?

I dont think the ZL1 will be back, I think it will be the Z/28 that comes back because GM is having a hard time selling the Z/28's and ZL1's from what ive read or they may only have a SS, ZL1 and Z/28 and no 1LE's.... |

They might not produce a ZL1 but I'm pretty sure they will offer something equal to it. So be it a Z/28 or ZL1.

I think they go Z/28 first. They did an awesome job with this generation .
I am excited to see what they come up with next. |

I Think The ZL-1 Has Had It's 15 Minutes In The Sunshine - Those Of Us That Were Lucky Enough To Buy One Should Consider Ourselves Lucky

I am the same on the ZL1 not being offered again.I read the Z/28 will either be with the 427 and more HP or the LT4 with a supercharger on it to battle the new mustang and the challenger. The new camaro platform will be lighter also. Maybe it will be an option on the motor like the copo is to where you have a choice of motors. It also said that a turbo would be offered on the V6 but it would be cool to see a turbo on a V8 to.

I'm sure it's going to follow the same path as the vette. LT1 as a base V8 and a LT4 supercharged Z/28 or ZL1 with aero bits, suspension and carbon brake options. I highly doubt they'll develop a specific DI high displacement NA V8 for this generation.
Given the trouble selling Z28's I'm sure they are finished with the decontented versions as well. (stripper, no AC models) Just my two cents but that's my prediction anyways. |

Chevrolet didn't have a ZL1 at their SEMA booth the last two years, maybe that's an indication of no more ZL1's? If they drop the ZL1, we may have collector cars...

I can't see them not offering an ultra high performance streetable package, whether it be a ZL1 or an SS with an optional upgrade package that includes the LT4. It's either that, or add option packages to the Z28 to make it more streetable, which would be basically dumbing it down.

I don't think there will be an upgrade Camaro out the first year of the C6. Hope I'm wrong but they normally wait a year or two.

There will be some sort of top dog Camaro but I wouldn't expect to see it until the 3rd model year or so of the 6th Gen.

I think in next 3 to 5 years twin turboV6's will be the norm and V8's will only be in very limited high end cars. G.M. already is working on such set-ups if you remember the one Leno had on his garage show.
