So the dealer does my oil change and....

So I had my car at the dealer 2 weeks ago to check out my clutch issue and I told them please change the oil and I would pay the extra for mobile 1. I am getting my car ready for Laguna Seca tomorrow, so I bleed the brakes, check the coolant, and then I pull my dipstick.......NO OIL showing?????? I thought wow I must be seeing things, so I take a break and come back, nope no oil on the dipstick. So I break out the mobile 1 and add a quart.....NOTHING!!! after 2, it finally shows. These effing morons ONLY PUT 5 QUARTS IN!!!!!! I have no idea even what to say to them Monday, this is the most inept dealer I have come across in my 50 years, so what do I do now? just forget about it? I have seen numerous lifter failures soon after dealer oil changes on this board..HMMMMMM.

You can mention it to them but they will probably deny it as you remedied the problem and cannot demonstrate it back to them.

Yeah I know, but it is really frustrating that I now have paid full price for a "free service"

Wow man, is there another dealer in your area? I would also consider contacting William at customer service, certainly since they wont get involved with our issues they certainly can call the dealer out on this one.

The 1LE LS3 holds what, 8 quarts?

Bet the tech just saw the SS badge and ran with it.

All LS3/L99 hold 8 quarts.

YOUR DEALER IS AN IDIOT, STOP USING THEM!

This is exactly why I do all of my own work except for major warranty work. It really is hard to find a good dealer with competent techs.

Crazy. As I have said before, if your going to have any dealer in the area touch your car, take it to Abel.

LS3 is 8.9 and the L99 is 8.5

But honestly I have only been able to put 7.5 to 8 quarts in when I change the oil.
