My first MOD

I took the SS badges off the front and the back. It looks so much better now. The grille was pretty easy. There was no need to take anything apart (as I found out the hard way). When i did take the top cover piece off, I could not reach the back of badge. So I put it back together and sought another way. From the pictures I have seen of the 2010 camaro, mine looked nothing like it (I have a 2011). So, I just wiggled and jiggled and pushed and pulled and put my left foot in and my left foot out and shook it all about. It came out rather easy.

The rear badge was even easier. I took the wifes hair dryer (got a funny look as I walked past her headed for the garage) and some fishing line and went to town. Within 2 minutes it was off. It took a little more time and effort to get the sticky tape they use off, but Goo Gone works wonders! And let me say, who ever came up with Goo Gone is a real genius. This is the second time I have had to use it on my camaro. The first time was for tree sap (darn Florida pine trees!!! ).

My next badge delete will be the front bow tie. I am still deciding whether to delete the rear or just put some black vinyl on it and call it good.

Now what am I to do with these badges?

put one on your dash, or put them on the front finders under the camaro emblem.

The dash sounds promising. I am still debating whether to keep the side camaro emblems or not.

Eh...I don't know. I mean, it's your car, so definitely do what makes you happy. I like a clean de-badged look myself (I refused to put the bowtie onto my Heritage Grille, for just that reason) but to me, the SS badge just has to be there. I guess, to me, ALL Camaros are Chevy's, so I see no real point to the bowtie on the grille (still haven't gotten around to removing my bowtie from the back, though), but NOT all Camaros are SS's (or RS's, or, in my case, SS/RS's). I just like the fact that I've got the red SS badges on mine, to show what the car really is. Maybe it's a bragging thing, I don't know. I just can't see removing the SS badges. I even made it a point to ensure that I got a red SS badge to put on my Heritage Grille.

Anyway, just my opinion. Do whatever you feel is best for your car, since it's your car. It's still bad-ass, badges or not. And even if it was a 6-cyl instead of an SS, it would still be bad-ass cause it's a Camaro!
