1/4 mile time
Any real quarter mile times out here? I want to know how fast is the Z28 for real. My car seem to me much faster then low 12's. I believe my car will easily run mid 11's at more then 120 mph with just the tune. I am having a problem with the car shutting down in between shifts from 2nd to 3rd and to 4th. When it does it, I have almost wrecked it because of the torque when it come back alive. I think its the torque management kicking in.

Did you try with traction control off? By saying shutting down, I presume you don't mean really shutting down, but rather severely cutting throttle?

Turn off traction control and watch out for the rev limiter. Since the Z/28 isn't set up for drag racing it might be difficult to get mid 11's in 1/4 mile. If you take it to a drag strip video it, I would enjoy watching it.

It would be interesting to see what the z28 can do.

I'm kind of interested in what they'll do as well, but I hope that people also mention any mods they've made and/or provide any dyno results. About a year and a half ago I was thinking 12.1 @ 118 would be what a stock car with only a tune would do. Still think that's about right. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=243 Norm |

magazines are clicking off 12.1-12.2@117-118 so 11s are possible with drag radials and good track prep. Don't worry, I going to take my car to the dragstrip soon. I will run my drag radials from my ZL1 too. No need to burnout $625 Pirelli Trofeos...
. My "butt-o-meter" feels faster than my ZL1 stock but with the 6spd it is hard to gauge. I am confident it has an 11sec pass if my skill with the 6spd is above average.

Trofeo Rs have inconsistent traction at launch, worse than even much less sticky G:2s according to MotorTrend. Therefore, you might pick up more than expected time with drag radials.
By the way, Trofeos are $575, not $625; you're exaggerating : P

If thats the case, then it is faster than the ZL1 0-60 and quartermile time. I remember seeing the reviews from Edmunds on the ZL1
So when they say the Z28 is not as fast as the ZL1 it must be a marketing gimmick. Its fast in every way. Thats on the Pirellis not DRs.

Makes sense, didnt take that into account. Going back to OP's original sentiments, this does feel way faster, I owned a 2014 M6 ZL1 as well, and this seems surgical.

Every car I have ever owned has run at least a half second faster then what the factory or magazines say. Example I had a 2002 Camaro z28 brand new with 75 miles, I went to the track and ran 12.70 at 112 bone stock, 2 hours after I bought it. I have a 2014 Chrysler 300 srt bone stock it went 12.30 @ 114 on stock tires. My 2014 jeep went 12.40 stock @ 110 stock. The z better fly.......
