ZL1 rear-end HP rating?

SOrry but I have to ask, how much can a ZL1 rear take? I'm in the works of going F.I. and TH400 for drag racing estimate 700rwhp plus with hard launches. I don't have a ZL1 but an ss and thinking of ordering one. Thanks.

I don't think anyone has found the limit yet it is a pretty robust unit and withstands 5000 RPM Clutch drops with 850 RWHP without a wimper.

Ted.

I've been racing 1000+ rwhp through mine for more than a year now, not even one issue with it.

Canadian992 (Lance) routinely punishes his M6 ZL1 at the strip on slicks and has not had an issue with either the clutch or rear. He is over 700rwhp.

When you start doing clutch drops over 1000 whp it develops a little slack. Never broke anything but the slack was clearly there. Never had a problem when it was in the 800's.

I must be rough on stuff then. I'm at 545rwhp and I have some slop in the driveline. I don't drag race, but I no lift shift quite a bit.

HAHA...Excellent comment! Gotta change the whole suspension and rear when you get into the higher horsepower range.
