So I bought a new battery for my 2010 camaro ss cause they told me my old one was bad and I had been having problems getting my car started so now it's doing it again I go and turn my key and it clicks and completely goes dead.. everything was working fine until the temperature dropped Monday morning that's when I started problems again. I came to auto zone today to have my battery checked and they told me I have a bad alternstor.. but my concern is why do I only have this problem when it's cold.. and when it warms up everything works perfectly fine ?
When I get my car jump started it starts like normal as well.. maybe someone out there can help me out |

Everything was working fine until the battery was drained because the alternator wasn't charging. Not because it's cold..coincidental ....it's a shame they didn't check the alternator when they checked the battery. You probably only needed the alternator ...silver lining.... You would have been replacing the battery sooner than later

Its probably the battery.
I had the exact same issue with mine. I replaced the battery. the issue reoccurred. I bought a float charger (Battery Tender Jr.) at walmart for around $30, issue solved.

Yes, that is all I did.
I replaced the original 2010 battery. The issue kept happening. So I bought a float charger. A float charger is just a trickle charger that stops charging when the battery is full. They make a bunch of different ones. I use the Battery tender Junior, it was about $30 and you can get this model at most auto parts stores or Wal-Mart. Also, uou may need an OUTDOOR extension cord. Again, $10-$30 at Wal-mart These cars, the computer stays on all time, and will slowly drain the battery. This issue gets a lot worse when it is cold, and when you do not drive the car every day.

I checked voltage to battery and it's charging battery to about 14.9 which isn't normal ... it also fluctuates alot from 14.9 to 13 to 14.2 and back 5 o 14.9
