HELP

I recieved my sw power headers no cats,sw retro chambered catback, and 2014-15 Z28 cold air intake.Do i need to change maf sensor? I am getting a cam in July.I was told with this intake my fuel trims are going to be off. With these mods do i need a tune now,or can i drive till July, when i get cam, then tune? I am installing this week, should i tune then and again in July? Should i get longer plug wires ive heard sometimes they melt?

You should get a strong maf just to eliminate future issues. With no cats you will recieve engine codes and with headers and intake you will see rich conditions which will most likely throw a code after a while. You will most likely experience a loss of low end performance that can be corrected in the tune. These reasons alone, I say get the tune now. I haven't had issues using stock plugs, but I have Thorley's not sure if thats an issue with SW's

Do a quick search on here for 'weak MAF'. That thread will help you determine if you have a 'strong' or 'weak' MAF.

As far as the tune, you should be okay to wait until July. I would not drive it too hard until the tune, but that does not mean you have to baby it. One of the biggest issues with these mods and no tune is that you will always have a CEL, so you wont know if it is because of the headers or if something else is wrong unless you have a DB2 reader or something.

My understanding is the z/28 intake comes with its own MAF so you should be fine.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Oh yeah, that is true. I forgot the Z28 intake includes an MAF.
