Vinyl Rally Stripes Care

Guys - I just wanted to share with you that this is probably the best product you can use to take care, and keep the nice look, of your vinyl rally stripes. It also works great on all the 'black' on your car including rubber trims, tires, hard plastics like the diffuser and grilles. Go get ya some if ya haven't tried this. A bit pricey but worth it. You apply it after a wash on a dry surface, and the results are awesome.

Anyone got any additional tips or products that you'd recommend, or methods that keep your vinyl stripes looking good for years on end? Thanks!

Adam's Super VRT;

No matter how much cleaning/buffing/etc I did, I could NOT get an even finish. Even in his video at the end, it still looks like a bit of a splotchy finish to me. I much prefer just cleaning the vinyl and leaving it as is. I've tried all sorts of different treatments and I've never been able to get anything even.

Ah yes... it definitely takes some work getting it all even... on Rally stripes it all seems to work, on fully covered hood... it could get very tough.

For me, this stuff really eliminates the wear already on mine due to weather, sun, etc. Even if I can't get it all even, it still looks eon's better than not applying any.

Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it, and the honesty of the posters here.

I never gave consideration to using the polishes on the vinyl. I'm having my car professionally done in a few weeks. I'll be curious to see what they can pull off.

i use VRT on all my plastic and rubber,great stuff.but i do not use it on my vinyl stripes.i have found for me that turtle wax ice does a great job without a lot of work.that is the only thing i use the ice on.don't much care for it for anything else.i have not used all the products out there,but the ones i have used,this is what works best for me.

I use the brilliant glaze from adams first and apply it just like your waxing the cover doing little areas first, then wipe it off. Next I take the VRT and apply it to applicator stroke it the length of the hood for about 1/4 of the width. Then I go back over stroking the length of the hood with a towel once, then continue to do the whole hood. When done I stroke the hood in same pattern with the towel to make each quarter section the same tone. Then every once in awhile I just wipe off the dust.

Just like sanding wood you want to go with the grain or think of brushed aluminum you want it to go the whole length with no stopping points

I think its great because you can make it almost shiney or a deep black or lite matte.

Same method I use as well...the brilliant glaze knocks everything down to an even surface for the VRT to go down easier. One thing I add is that, when needed, I start with Adam's Fine Machine Polish by hand (but I don't think the sell it anymore) and it does wonders for swirl marks on the vinyl.

Only issue I have is the '45' that is cut into my stripes. A total pain to work around.

I use Adam's super VRT quite a bit, but I had a terrible time getting it to leave a uniform finish on my vinyl wrapped hood. I found that 303 Aerospace Protectant works much better. It leaves a very natural looking finish with no streaks.

This is the same stuff I use on the soft top of my Jeep and the tonneau cover on my truck.
