Passenger Compartment Air Filter Element

Can anyone tell/show me where this filter is located? It is mentioned in the owners manual ( part # 92220249 ) but I have no idea where it is.

Thanks

Why ?. This is something that does not have to be replaced for a long time.

Just trying to learn everything I can about the vehicle and since this seemed to be mentioned but not explained when I read the owner's manual I thought I would ask others here that might be a bit more versed in the maintenance of the vehicle. The manual does recommend exchange every 12 months or more frequently if driven in dusty conditions so I would like to know where it is.

It should be behind your glovebox.

I think it is really well hidden if it is behind glove box. Couldn't see it.

If it is like my grandpa's pontiac it should be in the back of the glove box there will be a little access panel leading to the filter

This is a standard item these days. My Impala has one, and I didn't pay for it (company car) - which means that it's a cheap model

No idea where it is on the camaro - they'd have to deliver mine first - but on the impala you pop the hood and it's under a coverplate near the mirror (outside the firewall) IIRC. Have a look, perhaps a chevy is pretty much a chevy here.

As for what it does, yeah, it basically filters out the air in your car. Jiffy Lube will be more than glad to change it every time you take it to them if you let them heh.

If you cant find it behind the GB then you might check near the firewall in the engine compartment on the passenger side of the vehicle. The Dodge Chargers Air filter was there.

Just a complete guess I dont know for sure on the Camaro.

Send a message via MSN to Scott@Bjorn3D
It is near the firewall wall passenger side. If I remember correctly when GM trained saleman on my car it just pops off using a flatblade screwdriver to pop it out.

Thanks all for the input......I'll do some poking around. In the mean time if someone has a pic of filter location that would be awesome.
