Fti th400 and stall review
So I got to put a few miles on my car with the new th400 and stall converter and man it's an animal but the power feels like so much more... However day bye bye to any kind of fuel mileage but this is a week end car so who cares.. I do have a full manual reverse valve body so I still have to shift which is a good compromise coming from a manual car... Very fun to drive 50 miles an hour and punch it in this cool weather and it will still break my drag radials loose

Nice! If I could do it again I'd do a 400. Damn 4L is horrible on fuel anyway.

Good to hear you're up and running pdiddy.
I got all the wiring ran up into the console yesterday. Just need to tie into the neutral safety micro switch on the shifter, run some power to the transbrake button, bolt up the dip stick, put the drive shaft back on and fill the 400 with oil. Hopefully I'm going to be able to fire mine later today. I'm running a 3500 stall Bo. Bryan

That's about what PTC is building for me.

Got my car running today. It's quite a bit different than doing the swap from a manual transmission. A lot of trial and error pissing around with the tune file to get rid of all the TCM functions and allow the car to start.
I only ran it for about 20 seconds today, had a bunch of wires/stuff hanging out all over the place. Shut the car off, cleaned up the connections and wiring, tucked everything away and installed the exhaust. Tomorrow I'll put it up on the jack stands and idle it through the gears. If all is OK, perhaps a little afternoon cruise for a test run. Bryan

Ya I heard the auto stuff is harder howeve not sure if someone told u or not but supposedly if u load a manual tune and start there it makes it easier I am fighting a grimlin regarding fuel and o2 sensors right now otherwise all is good it takes about two days of driving prob 50 miles for my speedo to start picking up the abs sensors and if I happen to clean the speedo code that I get then it will stop working for two days again lol

It was only harder because there doesn't seem to be much info out there on the process for the 6L80 swap, a lot of trial and error. Now that its done, on a look back it's very simple.
Because the ecm and tcm are vin matched you can not load a manual tune into a 6L80(we tried). What you need to do is:
The car started immediately with no codes and the speedometer was still working. Went for a drive and did a couple of half throttle pulls through the gears. The TH400 sure does move the power around in a different fashion, what a blast. A huge thanks to Ted Jannetty, we emailed shit back and forth and talked on the phone all day Friday till we go it done. He was relentless and wouldn't quit till we had it working properly, it wasn't his project but he wasn't going to see me stuck with a car that wouldn't start and run properly. Everything was done remotely with SCT tuning software.
