Kooks Exhaust Fitment

Finally got my Kooks full exhaust after a month of waiting. I installed the whole system yesterday and was surprised to see how far out the mufflers stick. Is this normal? I was really expecting it to tuck in similiar to the stock exhaust. I mean from the top the tips stick out at least 3 inches past the bumper. It looks like some cheap aftermarket or shitty custom job. Any help is appreciated, I know I don't have many post but have been a lurker for some time now.

Wow you're absolutely right, looks pretty bad lol if possible can you give us part numbers of your exhaust set up so we know what you have. I haven't seen one like that. They usually come with nice polished chrome tips that stay tucked into the difusser. That's sticking out way to much.

It's the kooks full 3 inch exhaust with kooks headers. I was really expecting it to look much better for how much I paid for it and waiting a month for them to ship it.

You have tried to shorten up the system at all the clamping points already I assume?

I have the same Kooks with 3" pipes and cats. ( I waited 3 months).
Mine don't stick out that far ony an inch or two.
This picture doesn't show too well (only ones I have).

No I hear ya. I'd be pissed too. I did soe searching and all I can see is that they have the nice polished tips your just looks like a regular pipe. Got anymore pics? Did you order it straight from kooks website?

Im betting you got the wrong kit, there is one for non ground effect cars that comes with the nice tip then the ground effect cars and has the normal exhaust pipe because it is not seen when the ground effects are on the car

Thanks for all the replies fellas! I tried everything short of seriously beating it with a hammer. I ordered the exhaust from Marylandspeed. I got the stepped headers with the full exhaust and high flow cats. I didn't even see an option for the ground effects kit. Here are some better pictures.

That can't be the right system; looks terrible. The tips aren't slashed either. Did you contact Maryland Speed?

Could someone else with the exhaust maybe post pics of theres from the same angles. I kept trying to find pictures but could only find straight on from the back which gave no indication of how far out they were sticking. I'm really hoping it's something that can be fixed. I don't want to go through the hassle of taking it off and shipping it back. Plus my car would be down for that time due to the headers not going with stock exhaust.

Exhaust systems go on differently every time. I would try loosening everything and see how far you can get it in. Some times you just need to pry everything back and then re-tighten. You can try pushing all the hangers back some too.
