Label on frame near air conditioner compressor - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Any body else notice this label under their hood looking straight down by the air conditioner compressor? Besides having the vin on it it also has a date and time on it, mine reads 07/24/09 08:08:18. Sorry about the picture quality, it wasn't easy getting the camera in there.

You should have another on your rear end housing. It's pretty cool to be able to see how and when it all came together.

yep just looked at the wifes 1LT it says 3-16-2009 1:48pm i think that was the first day of production!!

On my drivers door it had a date of 7-9-09. I thought that was when my car was made. When I look at this label it has a date of 7-28-09 2:12pm... I wonder why there is such a wide date variance?

Those are tracking numbers, we use them to track the various components through the process. Those times should be when they left their "home" and started life on the production line. Hence the barcode, the robots scan them at various stations. It's how we make sure no part gets left out of the process.
