Looking for suggestions for upgrading my 1LE
What's up my 1LE family? I hope everyone is enjoying their1LE
with autoX and tracking in the future. I want to make sure to pick up only high quality parts that will perform and last. The plan is to have all these parts installed and the car tuned this summer(lots of tracking this summer Parts i've got waiting for installation: -Kooks Longtube headers -Pedders Subframe Bushings -Pedders Radius Rod Bushings -Pedders Diff Bushings -Pfadt Lowering Springs Any other parts that would provide notable upgrades? Rear Upper Arm Bushings? All suggestions welcomed. Going to save cam, heads, etc. for late in the year. Last edited by Pushrod Pete; 04-16-2015 at 12:51 AM. |

Engine oil cooling. All C5 cars seem to run pretty hot oil esp cali in the summer.
ZL1 or equiv braking upgrade. |

Good stuff. Brakes and engine oil cooling are definitely on my list as well. I've got some z28 brake ducts on the way as well.
Any more suspension suggestions? |

Brian Tooley cam, valve springs, pushrods and trunion upgrade, for more power. Suspension and brakes are really good. Switch out the brake fluid to a 600° temp fluid. Such as Motul or Wilwood.

I have heard not so good things about diff bushings, but they may not all be created equal. I did not put them on this Camaro. But I am sure they will make more noise if that bothers you, even the cradle bushings do a little.
But while you are at why not add CTS/V brakes on the cheap along with the cooling ducts you plan on? Also trailing arms and outer TA bushings. And don't forget the Plastidip FTW.

It's going to be a pricey upgrade when they come out, but Justice Pete (formerly with Pedders US) is working on a drop knuckle setup for the Camaros. It'll give you a 1-inch drop without affecting your suspension geometry, a 10mm wider front track, and convert the factory non-rebuildable bushing housed in the knuckle into a rebuildable spherical unit. You may also want to look into a set of camber caster plates, so you can have a good street alignment, but have additional adjustment when you get to the autox/track. Just some thoughts

Cam, knuckle drop and any other exorbitant modification will be held off until late in the year.
I did some research on the pedders diff bushings and read nothing but excellent reviews. I pretty much adhered to Justicepete's book to guide my build. I wish I could get my hands on that z bar.![]() As far as any noise, I am all about performance and the visceral driving experience, so no worries. ![]() Trailing arms and outer TA bushings! Those will be purchased. I greatly appreciate all the suggestions. Keep them coming. |

With tracking in mind...
CTS-V brake upgrade, you already have brake ducts on the way, track pads, tow hook (just in case), $$ saved for more tires and brakes, high temp brake fluid. Did I mention brakes? lol I also have benefitted a lot from recording my track time. Download Harry's lap timer and get an inside windshield mount for your iPhone or Android phone so that you can analyze your time at the track afterwards. This impresses your friends and scares the hell out of your family. |

Not to be a willy nilly.....But you need to be careful living in California. Be sure the choices you make are emissions compliant.
