2009 vs 2010

Has this topic come up yet? Will these early Camaros eventually be called 2009 or 2009-1/2??

Example: The 1965 Mustangs that were built between April and mid-August 1964, have ever since been called a 64 1/2 Mustang. These cars have an increased value over the cars built mid-August and later.

Will the early 2010 Camaros be worth more than the 'after the standard production date' cars?

THE EARLY 2010 CAMARO CHANGES LIST:
1. Back-up Sensors added on 2LT, 2SS, and CC option.
2. Previous LPO stripes now installed at the Factory.
3. Removal of the small GM emblems 'Chicklets'.
4. Summit White added as 10th color.

VALUE is only determined by the price someone is willing to pay for something ..... To say they will be of more value ?

And wasn't the first mustang worth more in value just because it was the very first? Not because anything was special about it? I mean it was the very first pony car.

I owned a 64 and a Half Stang. There were a few differences but they were not positive things. Production date was the thing that made them special.

Some things that 64 1/2 car had different.

1) 260 CID motor
2) Generator Vs Alternator
3) Edge of hood was different (it had a bevel in the corners) and body had a matching bevel.

Early 2010 Camaros will have at least one notable difference from later cars. No backup sensors. Not something better but different.

I guess as was said... time will tell.

The 64-1/2 Mustang had several parts that were different by the time the mid-August production started, and there's a long list, including: Generator vs alternator, lipped hood, door and window crank fastening, etc.

I see some things like this happening to the Camaro now, and I'm sure there're others that I don't know about?! I've seen some of the other changes, but they're scattered in different posts.

I think we should have a 'sticky' post made to list the changes being made (for prosperity).

I'll kick it off:
SEE FIRST POST FOR COMPILED LIST.

I guess I was typing while you were too!

I just sold my '64-1/2 on Mother's Day, after spending years tracking down the right parts to replace the wrong ones slapped on by the previous owner.

It cleared some room for the Camaro, and got me over a 50% down-payment at the same time.

What about that rumor that IBM was going to be eliminated? Was there any truth to that? If so, that may increase the value of those...

Are you guys really planning on keeping your Camaros 30-40 years? I would just enjoy it and not worry about what it's going to be worth later.

Don't forget about the small GM emblems that should be removed in future builds. Those with the GM chicklettes might be worth more in 30 - 40 yrs???

Well, if it will run that long, yes But she'll be a daily driver for a while, so its not like i'm just going to throw her in a garage all that time.

I wish I had the choice to sell mine. In '94 I was hit by a drunk driver in my 64 1/2. I was fine but the car was totaled. After that I went though numerous Mustangs (a new off the lot '94, and a '93 Cobra to name a few) but no love... they were just cars. This new Camaro was love at first sight. I plan on keeping for a long time.

Exactly...it's extremely likely that ANY of these cars will actually increase in value before 30-40 years and even then, probably not. You'd do just as well investing in a small truckload of PC's and laptops.
