Zl1 wheels drive time

Im kinda skeptical on whether how long of a trip I should drive on the Summer tires that come with the 10 spoke wheels. Anyone have an estimate on how many hours are good before doing any damage?

214.29 hrs and then they will spontaneously explode. This can't be a serious question?

If you are serious are you talking how long will these tires last mileage wise or are you talking about the cold temp warning? And are you talking about the Gooodyear F1s?

Heat is often the biggest enemy of tire life. Proper tire inflation and weight are the two factors to pay attention to. The latter is fine as it is a stock tire. If you had an average speed of 60mph for 500hrs the tires would last 30,000 miles which I think is a fair guess if you drive like a grandma.

Under your avatar it says you have an SS, so there I have some questions.

What size tires? The 1LE's 285's all around or the staggered 285/305 ZL1 tires?

Are these tires on the 10" and 11" wide wheels?

If they're the exact setup for either the 1LE or the ZL1 and you're running them at appropriate pressures, they'll very likely do better all the way down to the wear bars than the base tires would for the same total mileage. On any given long drive, your bladder capacity will be by far the more critical consideration

Incidentally, don't be bleeding any air out of a tire that's been made warm from driving. Temperature and pressure rises are taken into consideration when the door sticker cold inflation pressure recommendations are developed, and a few psi increase cold to hot is to be expected. In fact, the main design condition for the car probably involved the tires working at a some warmed-up-from-cold pressure anyway.

Uh, I have drove for 12 hours at an average speed of 80 MPH and still have the tires on my car at 16K (and some change) and they still have good tread on them.

How fast are you going?

I would think 250 mph would wear them rather quickly, although impossible to get there...
