I thought about posting this before, but didn't.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The head of an Okolona auto dealership whose car was involved in a deadly crash during a test drive has made his first comments about the incident.

Around 1 p.m. Sunday, Louisville Metro Police say 30-year-old Bryan Lee was test driving a 2009 Dodge Challenger from Commonwealth Dodge on Fern Valley Road when he hit Mercury Sable at the intersection of Fern Valley Way. The two people in the Sable, Toya Buckner-Dioum and her stepfather, Sherman King, Senior, were killed in the crash.

According to the police report, Lee was allegedly going over 100-miles-per-hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone.

Tuesday, Billy Hays, president of Commonwealth Dodge, released this statement:

"Mr. Lee was in no way encouraged to break the law by our salesman, whose life was also in jeopardy during these events, and who incurred injuries in this needless accident. At two different times during this test drive, our salesman begged Mr. Lee to slow down."

Lee is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $100,000 bond

wow... somehow i dont really believe that... whenever you test drive stuff... the dealer goes - "faster faster! you need to see how powerful this car is (so you can buy it!)"...

either way... its a very very sad story and i hope he gets what he deserves.

A tragedy being compounded by the dishonesty of the salesman just trying to relieve himself of any responsibility.

Let this be an example to anyone thinking of doing something like this - do not speed on public streets as you are making the decision to put others lives at risk, not only your own. There are racetracks all over the country where you can take your car as fast as it will go.

I will always remember what my insurance agent told me when I bought my first Corvette at 21: "You dont have to go fast, everyone already knows it is fast"

He probably mentioned they were going a little too fast but I highly doubt he was begging.

Wow. Thats a really bad situation. If he really wanted to play a little, why couldnt they find a backroad somewhere instead of in the middle of town?

Yeah, there were on ramps to the Interstate about a mile or so from where this occured if he wanted to see how fast it would accelerate. No need to test out the top end.
His brother and a friend were also passengers along for the test drive.

Sad for sure.....Back in 1996 when I was test driving a new Z28, the salesman said this to me:
"Feel free to let it breathe"
