0-60 mph in v6???
Hello,
I have ordered a manual V6 RS Camaro and hopefully it will arrive soon (finally made it out of dealer allocation). Has anyone gotten a 0-60 mph time similar to those published by GM once the engine is broken in (ie in the 6.1 second range)? Yesterday, I read this review http://www.carguideweb.com/articles/5438/ and it mentioned a 0 - 62 mph time (0-100 km/hr) of 8.4 seconds. That sounds slow for this car and I am sure it probably had to do with the engine not being broken in or a mistake on their part. When I took it for a test drive, it felt like it had a lot of pick up and go!!! |

I ran a 6.1 with the air temp at 78 and no A/C blowing and then a 6.4 with it 94 degrees and the A/C on. So its not the ideal car if you want quick 0-60 times.

I didn't buy the car for its acceleration anyhow! Thanks for the post! |

I considered the GT for about 10 minutes......nicely done interior, exterior is also nice and sure it may be faster than a V6 Camaro but there is something special about the Camaro. After taking it for a test drive, I was convinced this car was for me.
Like someone else said in the forum, I had a smile that lasted for the afternoon after going for a ride in it. The Mustang is a very nice car but did not leave me with that same feeling after seeing it. |

Although it was V6 to V6 comparision, when we picked up our Camaro out of state we had to rent a car for the last leg of our trip. The rental was a 2010 Mustang with less than 500 miles! So we had a back to back test drive. The Mustang was ok, nothing special. I was unimpressed. But when we saw the Camaro, sat in it and drove it - NO Comparison. It rocks. The 6 is really good. But if you're looking for "pin me to the seat back" take offs, you need to test drive one and not rely on the numbers in a magazine.

:troll:I've seen your complaints about your Camaro, and just remember...it's a V-6 your driving, not a V-8!
