1LE TR6060 vs. ZL1 TR6060
This discussion may already be on the site somewhere, but I couldn't readily find a thread using common sense, intuitive search words to find one.
Can anyone confirm whether the TR6060 used in 2013-15 1LE cars is the same model/ specs. as the one used in the ZL1 from those same years? I know that they have the same gear ratios, but I'm curious about the torque capacity in particular. Did the ZL1 version have upgraded gear materials, synchros, etc., or are they the same unit for both applications? |

It used to be found on the Chevy Performance Parts site, but not anymore.
But I don't think so. The ZL1 used the MG9 while the SS used an M10 and the 1LE an MN6 or such. The MG9 is rated 551 lb-ft and the M10/MN6 420. The Z/28 may have also used the MG9; you would have to check the RPO codes to be sure. I had it saved until my PC bit the dust. Couldn't recover everything.

Thanks, Fred. I saw some parallel discussions on the Corvette website that mentioned the MN6 as being rated to 500 lb. ft., including one doc. that had been posted from Tremec. Not sure if those anecdotal points are worth anything.
