What does rear wheel diff chatter actually sound like?
Ive tried to find info or a video of the chatter so I can compare to my car.
Since I first took my car off the lot, with the convertible top up (so I can really hear my vehicle) I have always heard a light tin noise from the back of my car when I turn at all, or go up a slight hill. It dosnt sound strong at all, more like someone is crushing and playing with a tin can in the trunk. I figured it was the exhaust tips being cranky.

I suspect it is the both the rear wheels locking and unlocking repeatedly during a slow turn. There is no noise.
My car does it when I first start driving, but after a couple turns its fine.

It sounds like this. At a lower pitch. Because basically this is what's going on.

There are two different sounds most people are getting. The clutch pack chatter on slow turns or the sound on deceleration which is the backlash in the ring and pinion. It is easy to tell the difference.
