Tires Questions

Hey Guys have a question here, my father bought a 2016 SS and took off his factory 5 spoke rims and put on another set of rims with his stock tires. I am trying to put his 5 spoke rims on my 2013 1LT and I need new tires, would the TPMS I take out of my 18" tires/rims work with 20" tires I am going to be putting on the car? Or would I need to buy new TPMS?

If you use the same wheel sensors it will continue to work on your car as long as they work now. The sensors don't care what wheel they are on. The issue happens if the computer in the car doesn't recognize the sensors when programming.

Your sensors should fit in the new wheels. But they will have to change the valve stems as they are a stretch fit so to speak on the wheel. Not a big deal for any tire shop.

Although if this is your year-round driver, getting a dedicated summer and winter tire package could be a good opportunity here

I have another set of my stock LT rims and tires I use during the winter and these would be my new summer babies so I'm hoping it works out nicely!

If you change out the wheels at any time you will have to have the reprogrammed for that set of wheels as the computer records each wheels position on the car, left front right rear etc...
