VTC or new throttle body

I have a VTC and have yet to install. I've been reading the forums for a bit about TB and wanted an opinion on should I just install the VTC or get a new TB. Nothing is wrong with the current TB just looking to upgrade. I just bought a CAI intake and seems like a good time to upgrade the TB as well.

Not sure what route to go here, looking for opinions and options

If Bo White is back in production, I'd go BoWhite. Mixed reviews on the VTC.

Go for posted throttle body. A ported throttle body will add power and increase the throttle response especially if you get a tune. However, the vtc will increase the throttle response way more and it's adjustable, but it doesn't ad any power just makes it seem like you did. Oh and cels from the vtc is something to think about too.

Do yourself a favor and go with the TB. I have a VMAX. That is because I didn't know about Bo white at the time I bought it. Based off the hype, I would go with bo but I don't have any negative reviews on the VMAX. Can't go wrong with either choice. Personally I would never use the VTC. I had one and it made my car go into engine reduced mode every other day and caused CEL. I also went through and made sure it was all hooked up. They say it also doesn't inprove 1/4 times or anything like that so I would go with the TB

PTB, Bo White can't go wrong with it. The VTC I personally wouldn't install, yeah it gives great throttle response and is adjustable.....but the CEL and "reduced engine power" message cause by the VTC is a big no for me. Would much rather have the increase in response from a ported TB and a CAI

Install the VTC, it takes 5 minutes. If you get a reduced engine power message, just uninstall it.

A few more questions;

Can anyone tell the difference if you add a VTC to a good after market throttle body?

If I were to buy a good TB which brand would the majority tend to leans towards? Bo White and Vmax seem to be the front runners.

What size not sure about all that, 95 or 102 mm.

No on the VTC.
Bo White and Vmax are not aftermarket throttle bodies. They are ported GM units.

There are aftermarket throttle bodies available in different sizes from BBK, Nick Williams and FAST. These are for highly modified engines. Not for simple bolt ons.

I would recommend a ported throttle body for your application. It is a nice upgrade.

What I meant in terms of "aftermarket" was an upgrade from stock, but anyhow, now I know the difference. I'll stick with the ported throttle body for now.

I read that VTC and ported throttle bodes don't get along all that well. Will I get the same response from a good PTB vs. VTC? Seems to be too much hassle to worry about CELs and other issues to contend with.

Ported TB. CNC or reputable hand port will get what you want.
