GM GFX Chin Spoiler Removal

I have been having trouble taking off my factory GFX chin spoiler. It was damaged and I need to have it repainted. Any tips on getting this thing off? I took the bolts off and have been pulling up on it fiercely. It has some adhesive. I tried a hair dryer and I still cant get anything to pop off.

A: Would it be better to just buy a new chin spoiler and tear this one off?

B: Has anyone removed this without damaging it?

C: I need advice on getting this thing off

I think in addition to the two-sided tape it is held on by clips that need to be lifted up in order to clear the clip. Like a tongue behind a fence sort of thing. I had mine off twice without breaking it, but body shops did it so I don't recall exactly how they did it.

I'd be interested in knowing this too. I recently bought a new one to replace a damaged one but haven't got around to replacing it yet.

The front GFX splitter is held on by plastic clamps that are riveted internally then the splitter snaps onto the clamp. I would have no idea on how to remove the splitter without damaging the clamps and you can't buy those parts separately from GM.

I took mine off at 40 mph with a piece of fire wood laying in the road at night, mine was held on with pop rivits and tape.

Two sided tape and clamps is what it's held on to. There was a video somewhere on here on how to get that part off, need to find where it is. The video showed how to take that off and put a new splitter on.

I saw the video where it was put on but it was so far away you cant see how it actually snaps in. I still feel like I'm in the dark here.

You might need a trim tool set to remove the splitter without damaging the clips. Theyre like 5 bucks for a set.

I wish i could tell you more, but I ended up going with the ACS T4 and drilled into my fascia.
