Question Integrated Dash Cam (2015 ZL1)

I did search the forum and found only a few posts from 2013 or so and they did not answer my question.

I am wondering if anyone has attempted or knows if there is a process to integrate a dash cam into the infotainment center? I can view video and pics on the console from the phone. And likely can use an SVR app but that is directed recording. I like the features of a dash cam it is just that there really is not a lot of real estate to place some bulky unit and all its components. I really like the snap on rv units but with the touch screen rv unit already in the car it does not seem practical.

I basically would like to buy the tiny little cameras and display the results on the 7" screen already in the car. I can put the dvr if I need it in the glove box.

Ok so no response so far lol. Does anyone want to give it a try? Surely there is some smart person out there who can figure something out. I can use my car as the R&D platform? hehehe

That is exactly how I have My dash cam set up. It displays on the Mylink radio. Basically You need to get a dash cam with video out though for this to work. If you have the automatic you will need the interface to tap into the screen. If you have the manual you can add a switch and trick it to displaying when you want it to.

Since these guys do MyLink stuff they may be able to tell you how to do it.

I have read threads where additional cameras were added to the system.

I found one on Newegg that had the yellow RCA video out. I put a bigger sd card in it so it records quite a bit before it writes over itself.
With all the dash cams out there not many have video out.
