Trying to buy a new 2015 2SS at close to 20% off MSRP. Sales staff are not even returning my calls. Must be nice to be making so much money you can just blow a customer off. Is this part of that GM really cares service. Been a GM customer for 40 years. Maybe I should by a Hellcat and just go around kicking Camaro a##!!!. LOL had to vent.

With only $3500 in incentives available, selling a 2SS for 20% off would be at least a $2,000 loss, factoring in an $1,100 holdback from invoice, for the dealership. So I can see why they might find more constructive used of their time than responding to your offer. You might get lucky and find one that will work with you but it shouldn't be an expectation that the dealer should want to jump all over selling a car at a loss. Either way good luck with finding one at your desired price point.

Stand your ground for a while, they will have to move them soon.

I guess and will admit I must know nothing about selling cars because in almost every other type of retail business you do at times have to take a loss on some of your inventory in order to make room for new inventory and and at a certain point you need to get most of your money back to put into something you can sell. One of the cars I'm looking at has been at the dealer since last April. the other since last July. The 2016's are in. I would have thought they might have at least countered my offer but not even a courtesy return call to inform me that they just couldn't meet that price because those incentives had expired. All I got was I'll talk to my manager and get back to you and then nothing. I'm old school where buying a car should be a fun exciting experience. The last 2 new cars I bought were painful experiences. I've been treated better buying a 600.00 television. I guess that's progress. And then they have the nerve to try and pressure you into giving them a 100% rating on their GM satisfaction survey. Sure, that will happen.

what dealers in mpls are you going to?

because of the internet most dealers/salesmen will blow you off or tell you to come in. internet is a handy tool to get you in the ballpark of where/what you want but they know you are not serious until you are in the showroom.

when i purchased my camaro i went to lupient on 35w and 494 in bloomington. i even had a buddy who was a salesmen at suburban chev in eden prairie and when i told him what i got it for he said to take it.

the dealers that will usually give you the largest discount are volume dealers

One of the dealers I went into twice and called 3 times, still was unable to make the deal. The car today is advertised at 888.00 more than what I offered them a few weeks ago. They should have grabbed my offer because I'm not sure I want the car now at that price.

I think patience will pay off for you. I just got a leftover 2014 1SS for 20% off sticker as my OTD price plus they gave me about $1300 over blue book for my trade, an extra 2 years of scheduled service, and beat the best financing rate I was able to find by myself by half a point.

In retrospect, I probably could have got even more but, they were one of only two dealers out of 9 I spoke with that even gave me a remotely reasonable initial offer and the only one not to take the high-pressure approach and try to cajole me into signing something before I walked out. They were also already at parity with *used* private party values for the car in my area.

I've decided I am going to keep waiting and watching, I'm picky about options and color so that does not make it any easier. I'm driving a near mint 2013 2LT/RS with moon roof and polished aluminum wheels, 17k miles, so while I would like to move into the SS I'm not exactly slumming it right now. The best time to buy a car is when you don't need one. And I don't need one. I'm willing to pay 20% off MSRP, for a new 2015 2SS/RS accepting kelly blue book trade in on my car. That puts me at about 14k to 15k out of pocket with tax and license. That's all I'm willing to pay, I figure 10K more for the V8 and another few grand because it's 2 years newer. I don't want to go in any deeper than that. Mine is paid for [ The new one would be too ]. If mine is only worth 21k trade in I got a really nice ride for 21k. Paid 26k for it 1.5 years ago with 4k miles on it. Time will tell, there is always another car. "People who are not willing to walk away from a deal usually negotiate a bad deal".
