Increasing low end torque

Took my car to the track a few weeks back and had a blast. One notable thing I realized after driving my car, there is just no low end torque in this car. I already knew that going in, just not how evident it is when you're really trying to push it. My car isnt a V8 and nor was it meant for performance, but is there any known way to increase low end torque in a V6? Or am i simply wasting my time?

It's like a 600cc sportbike, never had it never will. Any mods that will increase low end torque will cost you gobs of top end power as the engine design prohibits.

However, you can change your rear end gears but as far as that 3.6 goes you just have to tach it up and keep it in the upper RPM range

You can add a little bit of torque with a JacFab Extendolator Intake Manifold Spacer. Gears is another way to get some more felt power down low, but you sacrifice top-end speed (if you've never maxed it out, you won't be missing anything) and fuel economy by doing so.

I don't want to come across as just another V6 hater but that was the first thing I noticed on an SS that was broken in. You can find a post from some time back where I drove a brand new SS when I had my V6 and boasted about there not being much difference. But especially in a VVT L99, low end torque is so apparent over the LT.

Yes, you have to rev it up to feel the power come on. With a manual, you can actually feel a lot of torque when the VVT gets in a certain rpm range. However, you won't feel a huge ground swell of torque at low rpms like a big ole V8.

I already knew that what little torque my car has, was about 4500 rpm, but daily driving I never shift that late. On a track, of course its a different story. I just never knew to this extent how there is no torque below that. My car is a manual and I dont feel any kind of pull/push out of corners unless im seriously high in the rpm range. I would love to see the torque curver of a V6.

Get a good quality tune, ported TB, and possibly high flow cats.

That made a world of difference on my car. The Overkill tune alone was worth its weight in gold. Completely different car

Change the diff. gears,I don't know what the stock gearing for the LT is but the 3.91 gears like the 1le has is supposed to be a kick in the pants feeling in performance.

Wouldn't suspension really increase that feel?

I mean low end torque is all about launch and the 0mph - (whatever)mph for the most part right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I've always just read about people going with big power and telling them that they wont feel the majority of that low end power if the car never hooks properly to begin with.

Figured it was the same concept.

Rear end gears. 3.73 makes a huge difference in the V6.

Yup. When i did the suspension swap on mine it was definitely noticeable. Everything was transferred to the wheels instead of lost in the mush that is the stock V6 suspension.
