Long Tube Header Question

Hey all, I have QTP cutouts installed on the stock exhaust and I was wondering what type of long tube headers could or would fit most easily to replace the manifold and cats? My goal is not to have to move or mess with the cutouts. Legally I don't need cats where I live so should I even bother with them and just get LTs or should I keep the stock cats and get shortys? I've heard a lot of negative things about shortys but not combined with cutouts. Mine are installed in pretty much the same spot as this guys:

Long tubes and cats won't change them at all. They bolt on right at the first coupler. And you legally do need cats, they are a federal requirement.

One complaint about going catless is it makes a more "raspy" tone in the exhaust. I would get LT's with hi flow cats, then just hook up your cut outs...
