How fast with the top down?
Heading to a "Track Day" with my '13 Vert, and will be hitting some pretty good speeds on the famous "Mosport".
Previously, I saw upwards of 200km/hr in my slightly modded 2010 Coupe, and was wondering if the Tonneau Cover would stay on the Vert at those speeds? Also wondering about just leaving it off? Would the wind buffeting be too much? Any and all help is appreciated! |

I have NEVER had an issue with my tonneau flying off, have had it up over 90 or so.
I do have the newer version with elastic loops.

FWIW, a Camaro program manager told me that the top will not lift at top speed when driven without the tonneau cover.

I might have had mine up to 105 and the cover stayed on fine

My tonneau cover was missing when I bought mine. The car has had short bursts over 100 with no issues. Yet.

If you look at my avatar info box or at my signature, you'll see I have a 2013 2SS/RS.
![]() My RPO codes in my trunk have the tonneau as equipped. |

Thanks everyone! I just might run it with the cover on, and see how it makes out.

When I bought mine the window sticker included a windscreen and all-weather floor mats that weren't there (about $650.00 worth altogether). I went back when I realized this and they gave me new ones without any trouble (that tells me how often that sort of thing must happen).

I've had the Z in the 140 to 150 range on the Mexican highway coming from G-town. Probably had 15-20 wind from the north and no issues with the tonneau coming off. Felt good. That extra open element made things interesting as well, makes you feel like you are in a roller coaster cart... but one you can control.

I have had my cover begin to lift once, but it was quite hot outside and the plastic was much more flexible. Provided it isn't really hot outside, shouldn't be a problem with it on.
That being said, I would run without the cover just to make certain that I wouldn't cause a track issue for others. I have had my car up to about 130-135 MPH with top down (no cover) with no significant change to the flutter you see at much lower "interstate" speeds. |

Ran 150 or so with the top down, no problems. If racing I would also say just run without the the cover.
