I have a question regarding foglights / running lights

I ordered a 2SS/RS, so help me get this straight. I can't run my fog light with my headlights? My fog lights only run during the day? It's probably been asked, but if you can help clear up how these lights work it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks inadvance!!!

They aren't FOG lights when you have the RS package.... they are RUNNING lights. When your headlights turn on, the RUNNING lights go off. There's no way to turn on them on. I don't like that... I used to use my Fog Lights on my Jeep all the time. We have a need for them here in N Texas. I guess it's a sacrifice we must make.

And that is the way it is...... :{D I HEARD that someone was working on a mod to so you could run them all the time, or even turn them on and off, but at this point, its just a rumor.

Yes I don't like that either. That sucks, I am use to having the fog lights on with the headlights. Thanks for clearing that up. You should have seen me searching trying to figure out how to turn them both on at the same time. They need to fix that. Thanks!!!

It would be much sweeter in my opinion if you could have them on both at the same time. They definitely need to work on that.

If you leave your headlight knob in the automatic setting, everytime you start your car, the running lights will come on. As soon as it gets dark enough, the headlights will come on, and the running lights go out. You cannot have the running lights and headlights on at the same time. You can however have no lights at all during the day, by turning the headlight knob to automatic off. With that setting no lights will be on at all (for U.S. cars only I believe), but you will have to turn your headlights on manually when it gets dark.

Thanks, I just find it strange that they wouldn't have it where you could have the running lights and the headlights on at the same time. They should definitely do a mod, so we can have that option as well.

I agree, they should both come on at the same time.

Some states it is against the law to run both fog and head lights at the same time.

Someone on the board here has come up with a relay that kicks on the running lamps when the headlights come on. I've asked him, a couple of times, for more info - the actual replay part number and where the connections go (he might have which wires in his post) but have heard nothing back. I'd like to make that mod.

EDIT:

Here's the thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35601

I dunno if that's quite right. My truck built in 2000 can only have the fog lights on if the headlights are also on. I can't have the fog lights on alone.

I do not have the RS package. I have a 1SS and my fog lights stay on with the low beams. When you put on the high beams they go out and when you switch back to low beams they go back on. They are not modal. Every time that you shut the car off, they default to off and must be turned back on by pressing in on the headlight switch.
