New Camaro Owner with Odd Dyno Results

He I just got myself a 2012 Camaro ss automatic, the previous owner had installed a borla catback exhaust and a k&n cold air intake, and moved the engine back. Took it to the dyno to see what the news was and it was not good. It only made 341 to the tire and was apparently super rich, I live in utah and so the altitude may be a part of this, but what is going on? There are no trouble codes, should I get it compression tested? The tune would help but I want to do more changes to it before I tune it. The bottom line for me is, 341 seems super weak, wat do?

Sounds about right for a cat back and CAI only....

Oh okay, the guy at the dyno said that was the lowest reading he'd seen on an ss, maybe he was just trying to get me to do more work?

Stock BHP is 400. Auto tranny saps 20% of that when measuring at the rear wheels. 400bhp x 0.80 = 320rwhp to be expected for a stocker. You've got an extra 20 which is phenomenal with only CAI and cat backs. Shouldn't complain.

Was it a mustang or a dyno jet dyno? The mustang reads lower hp than the dyno jet.

I keep hearing this but the time I was on a DynoJet, then a day later on a Mustang, my RWHP was within 10.

320 rwhp is average for the l99......your alot higher with just your mods then average...im not sure what to think of your dyno guy saying thats the lowest ever for a camaro. That doesnt make any sense.

Stock RWHP for an L99 is 330ish 341 sounds right on for your mods.

Being rich is normal for stock tune and not necessarily a problem.

Jannetty Racing Custom tuning will make that car come alive.

Your next best step is Long tube headers with high flow cats.

We carry everything Camaro please let me know If we can help you.

Ted.

Same here, only say 10rwhp lower on a Mustang and actually 10ft lb. more on torque compared to Dyno Jet.
