Bow Tie

duffy2092,

Remove the huge chrome bow tie and peel the gold bow tie out. Paint the gold one black and fasten it to the grill w/3M tape. The bottom of two small rectangular holes in the grill will be slightly visible under the bow tie if you get down low enough. Very clean and simple.

You don't need to go from behind the grill at all. The front bowtie is easily removed from the front of the car with a few fingers in behind the bowtie to pry the retaining tabs outwards.

Also, I'd assume he's going to replace it with a different badge and not just leave it off.

Sparks makes a nice large SS emblem that fits in the front bowtie position on the 2014-15 grilles. Check out the pics of my 1LE in my profile, you can see what it looks like installed. It is a bit pricey, but the emblem is cut from a solid piece of billet aluminum, so it is much better quality than a plastic one would be. Just a suggestion.
