closed the door while changing door handles

i had the drivers door handle out to paint it, after moving my car i shut the door, like an idiot i forgot there was no door handle, now it wont open, any tricks? ive tried the handle inside but nothing, seems like that doorjamb screw is not letting the handle go back all the way for a full bite to open the door.

Man oh man. Sorry but this is a little funny. Any chance you can pop the trunk and fold down the rear seat?

Why? He can get in on the passenger side. His problem is he cant open the door from the inside either.

Not good. Someone here may be able to help but I've never heard of this one before. Be patient.

got it, i removed the torx screw behing the handle towards the front, its on the ext door itself, then i was able to move the whole mechanism forward, getting access to the original torx screw in the door jamb through where the key hole is, that relaxed the whole mechanism so the hook went back, then i could pull on the hook and open the door, so whoever does this again, there u go.
