Wire on trunk lid wrecking weatherstrip?
Hey all. I notice this every time I open my decklid and pull it over like the second picture, but it always finds its way back. I'm sure this will destroy the weatherstrip over time. This is my 2013 SS. Anyone else experience this? If so, what did you do to stop it? Thanks!

I just noticed the other day mine is doing this too. But my weather stripping is further along than yours. I was thinking about using some smooth tape to reduce friction so it would slide better.
However, even if it damages the weather stripping on the bottom I think it'll be ok.

This is a known defect. Do a search here and you will find several solutions. Some were even able to get it repaired under warranty.

My guess is the wiring harness is to short and pulls tight.
I checked mine and have no issues with this problem. I have over 94K miles and open the trunk at least four times a day, every work day.

When I installed by blade spoiler, and had to run the extra wire from that, I noticed it was a bit too short. I pulled it longer, wrapped both of them up nicely together in some thin felt tape, and I've got no issues.
