could be the angles and the fact that its higher than the concept by an inch, the little bump on the bottom and the smaller exhaust tips...
maybe i'm being nitpicky or do i have a case?? I'm buying this regardless but you know |

Sorry, I wanted to resize it so people can actually compare, my bad.
And I also added the other two. I don't think it's tame, so much as different. They're each aggressive in their own ways, imo. |

Also, you have to keep in mind that the taillights aren't finished (just like the headlights) and that they're one of the last things to be produced. The concept has the taillights set further back so they look more sinister. The rest of the prototype just has a missing license plate, reverse lights and that small lip below the license plate that's different. Only those three things.

They look pretty similar. I think GM Design did a helluva job staying true to the original concept when transforming it into something that can be mass-produced and meets all of the non-sense rules and regulations that exist anymore for a car to be produced and sold.
Also too don't forget that the concept pictures were taken by a professional photographer who had it lit the way they liked and it was set up for an ideal portrait, where as the other one was taken by someone who just happened to have a camera and the wits about them to snap a picture of a legend in the making. I'll bet if you put them side by side and saw them in person they are actually really similar in their size and appearance. |

awesome...i knew i was just being nitpicky...
hopefully the taillights will be just like the concept...PLEASE GM!!! and why does it need reverse lights? couldn't the taillights serve that purpose? I think i can just get another rear bumper to fix the lower lip even though i am being a little nitpicky i have to give credit to gm for getting this concept so close and i am extremely grateful for re-creating my dream car in which i was very sad as a teen in 2002 when the car was laid to rest and i always kept hope and always checked car news to see if you would bring the car back and you guys might have made the best f body ever for that I will always be greatful...i almost thought of getting a mustang until their production looked nothing like their concept...then they revealed the challenger and i thought i'm going to have to settle for that since its the only muscle car available...then you guys unveiled the camaro and made my dreams come true but taillights like concept and nice big exhause please!! oh and dragoneye no problem dude you made my thread better |

Look at the exhausts. They look realistic in the pre-production model. The concept has large, unnecessary chrome balls to hold the exhaust. Normal cars don't have that. Most people would probably have guessed that those would not have made production.
Look at the underbody. The pre-production model has only a slightly larger black underbody piece. The main difference is the camera angle. Look at the reverse lights. As usual, I'm going to take GM's side and say that they are functionally necessary and placed very well on the car. If they were placed lower, there would be significantly less visibility. The only reason those can go so low on the Corvette is that the Corvette is a lower car with the driver closer to the rear since there is no rear seat.

the only things i can tell are that the concept doesn't have the chrome piece surrounding the tail lights and the reverse lights aren't there and the chrome on the exhaust....but other than that it looks very the same

The concept does seem to have a little bit more of an edge to it while the production car seems more rounded and not quite a crisp, time will tell.

I like the lines of the production car rear and the front of the V8 production car better than the concept.. GM did a great job with this and to be nitpicky, I wish the gas-cap was on the passenger side and on top as it was in the concept. However that I was told is not the safest place for it..
