HID retrotfit through TRS question
TRS changed their site so I'm confused on what I need. Are these the only things I need in order to do this retrofit?

I'm assuming you are trying to do a projector retrofit. If that's the case, you need to decide which projector you wanna go with. If you decide on the Mini H1 for example, you just pick the ballast, bulb, shroud and harness right from the options and you are all set. If you're just trying to add HID bulbs, you don't need a shroud like in your second link.

Retro fit yes.. I'm leaning towards the Morimoto Elite H13 setup with Gattling Gun shroud like in second link.

If you are doing a retrofit, why waste your time on anything other than the Mini D2S 4.0? They are the best projector out there now from the Morimoto line up. The link you provided above is just for bulb, and ballast, not for projectors.
This is what you need, or a step down to the Mini H1 7.0 https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...s-stage-3.html |

Give them a call, they will hook you up with everything you will need for the car over the phone. That way you are sure you get the right wiring harness. They don't just use a relay, but a vehicle specific harness.

BigWayne3000, I just did retrofit in my 2014 LS. I originally wanted to go with the Mini D2S's because of the rave reviews but word of warning: they didn't fit in the '14 headlight housing. You're talking a LOT of extra work to get them to fit. I ended up returning the D2S's and getting the mini H1's (which fit with only very minor filing), even though it's a slight step down in quality.

They did't fit in what aspect? They are about the same length (3mm difference), and width shouldn't be an issue... Where you looking at a true plug and play where you didn't need to hollow the reflector? If the Mini H1 fitted lengthwise, the D2S will fit as well, unless you were almost touching the plastic cover in the front.
The only reason I am not going with a D2S and using the 4TL is because the OEM RS lights are 2.5" and the D2S is 3". |
