ZL1 off to JDP

I dropped my 2015 ZL1 off at JDP in SLC for their Track spec package, headers and CAI. I look forward to tearing up the track when I get it back.

You must do a lot of track racing...Generally members new to the ZL1 look for rwhp mods, rather than suspension upgrades...I see that you joined this forum in 2008, and have 71 post...Did you have a earlier model ZL1 and recently upgrade???

i have this package, minus a couple things, did not like the install for the det speed rear cradle bushings and went with pegasus rear cradle mounts, used z/28 upper arm bushings, pegasus outter bushings, jpss delrin front radius arm bushings.

They charge for the decals, make sure you have them take those off the pricing. Should be free imo. Especially if you actually use them... free advertising for them...

Have not installed the lowering springs or motor mounts.

I also got a DSS Alum DS when i ordered the package.

Took me 24hrs of work time over 3 days to install everything myself in the garage, it was a lot of fun and good learning experience, first time working on one of these cars suspension.

Right now ride quality is excellent, tracks very well... i honestly dont remember what it was stock... but minimal harshness and extra noise/vibration.

But i tear it up pretty good at the track for no previous track experience...

I went 5% pulley, CAI, Rod Davis Rad/Hx, Rotofab Hx Resv, and Ported TB for my first mods...

Then suspension

Then Power

The car lowered some with a track alignment and I use the GM spring spacers to get the car on the trailer

Not sure how the ride height would work out around town with the springs and track alignment

I joined Camaro 5 when the info on the Gen 5 was coming out in 08. I was close to picking up a new 1LE when they released but decided to wait. When the 20% off was going last year, I found my ZL1 in Logan, Utah for 1LE money.

I opted for the suspension mods first, I felt that the power was sufficient for now. Next Winter, I will have more engine mods done. Basically it will be their 750 kit.

I may have to put the spacers in the front to get it in the trailer as well. Guess we will see. I hope I don't lose too much of its touring comfort. They said I wouldn't.

I see you have lowering springs, has that negatively effected the cars everyday driveability in your opinion?

No. I don't track or race though. I went with 1.4 BMR in front. Left the rear stock because I really liked how the car sat and looked. One of the best changes I made was to replace the front 285's with Michelin 245's. Steers so much better and doesn't grab every crack in the road. I put MT 305's in the rear, all on new 8" chrome wheels in front and 11" in back. Good luck on your mod's, let us know what you think!
