Are these subs ruined?
I have a pair of JL Audio 12W3v2 subs. The foam surround on the subwoofers are all torn. Is this repairable? Is it possible to fix by replacing the foam? Or are they useless now? Don't know much about subwoofers so not sure what my options are. I assume they are unusable as they are now and am too scared to attempt playing them. They must be very old as even the slightest of pressure tears the foam.
Here's how bad they are: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yes they are quite easy to repair. I just did a set for My son. The foam on those is notorious for dry rot an tearing. The new foam kits are relatively cheap and easy to install.

I wouldn't deal with it and buy new but that's my opinion. Those had to be ran hard to get that way.
