P0068 Code after porting Throttle Body

HioSSilver ported the throttle body for me Saturday. Needless to say I spent some time getting the coast and idle squared back away (tiny clutch aggravates this issue a lot) Still need to work on getting it perfect but what a difference on initial tip in!

I had the same issue...my tuner went back and did some adjustments to I believe the A/F ratio and after a few start ups the computer learned the larger amount of air being ingested into the motor. Haven't had a problem since.

No doubt. Yeah the 3 main things that the ecu looks at are the MAF, MAP and TPS. The usual way to regulate the idle is with an IAC, idle air control valve. Since these TBs don't have these its built into the TB casing for the blade to move and control idle speed. Since you cut almost all of it out it now doesn't have very much to work with to control idle speeds. Welcome to my world almost 20 years ago. That's when manufactures starting getting away from IAC valves.

What I did Bo was reduce the amount the blade was allowed to travel to 1.5% for 1.9x neuteral and 1.9% from 2.3x brake. Cold Start I had to make just slightly larger then a warm start. I need to tweak this a little but that's why I have HP Tuners lol was a long nite and morning Sunday lol

Correct, my experience is with my stage II even after all my testing when I come out with that port about 1 in 10 need a touch up tune. My stage III is still under testing phases.

Yes you can tune a lot of it out if your good but the more you cut out the harder it will be to tune. There is a break over point were it cannot tune out because there's not enough there for the computer to use.

Bo,

Are you referring to the two black lines in the top photo? Meaning that that area denoted by the two black lines should be left a little bit wider, to give the computer more room to work the idle trims?

Thanks,
Scott

Yea we got pretty aggressive with it....looking to get all the stages we could. I'll probably leave a tad more in the next one. But lazerlemon is getting it sorted in the tune. So in the end it will be a win win i think.
