Painting Vararam air intake?
So I just ordered me a new air intake for my 2010 SS. I got the Vararam ram air system. http://www.vararam.com/camaro-ramair-unit2.html
After looking at a bunch of different set ups I decided I like the functionality of this one. Anyway on to my question, have any of you guys that have installed one of these tried to paint it? Its a type of plastic near as I can tell. So I wonder how well paint would stick to it, or how long it would last? I'm thinking it would look pretty sweet painted inferno orange to match the engine cover. |

Would definitely require some prep work to look like the picture above.
The plastic is lightly textured, not smooth. Mine is unpainted.

Yeah doesn't that look sweet?
The guy at Vararam said it was a customer that did that. He said he wasn't sure what kind of prep work went into it. Told me to ask here ![]() I'm thinking probably you have to paint it with some kind of adhesion membrane. Then base coat and clear? I'm going to look into it further and try to find out. |
