Anyone and everyone with a custom exhaust No Headers I wanted to ask something.

I have the Solo mach X exhaust on my 2SS. I really like the sound alot but when I am cruising and I let off the throttle and RPM drops a tad the car gurgles but its like an inconsistant annoying gurgle to me and my passengers. the gurgle is all over the place almost like an out of tuned misfiring engine.

I did hear a Corsa in person and as a passenger and I didnt notice that.

I was told by SOlo thats the way it supposed to be due to the engine design?

The Solo doesnt use rear mufflers or resonators its just an encased X pipe up front and straight pipes.

Just curious if other systems do this or if anyone can post up a cruising video to show how on and off throttle sounds. For instance if I am rolling to a stop light at low RPM in gear it will do this or even on the highway if I let of the gas for as split second.

I love the sound of the Solo but if something else is better and doesnt do this annoying burp I will move on and get something else. I like a gurgle if it sounds consistant all the time.

Maybe I need headers and no cats?

it's normal...it does it with the stock exhaust...so w/ aftermarket it get's a little louder.

not sure if headers would make it even louder or not.

I think Corsa has more rasp that sorta cancels it out a little on the ear drum.

Oh well I guess I just need to be WOT 24-7 ha ha ha

I never heard a stock exhaust my car came delivered witht the Mach X and lot of dealer cars had the Corsa when I test drove. Didnt have anything to compare thats why i posted the topic.

That si goign to happen with that wide open of an exhaust. It will be less noticeable with somethign that has mufflers or even resonators.

I have a custom 3 inch powerflo on my car, and it is not as noticable sound. I mean you know it is there, because the car will always do it when it cuts fuel flow, but at least you are not listening to it.

Some people like it, some dont.

Got car in NY lot of dealers do this from what I found out.

I test drove 2 cars with Corsa and one with Pedders right near my house. Some dealers seem to get into the custom aftermarket stuff others turn the other way.

I guess whatever closes the sale they will do whatever.

ZZ, you have the SLP powerflo axle back with headers? How does it sound? I have ARH LT's installed with the stock mufflers and I'm considering the Powerflo axle back.

The reason you hear the gurgling is due to decel fuel cutoff (dfco). The gurgling happens with just about every aftermarket exhaust from what I understand. You need a tune to get rid of it (and specifically mention to turn dfco off). I turned it off on mine and lost about 1.5 to 2 mpg, but well worth it in my opinion to get rid of the gurgling.

I have the Corsa system on my LS3 and the decel popping is even louder from stock but i like it, makes it sound mean and nasty! like a muscle car should.

Solo will sell you the Quantum mufflers that go on the Quantum Axel back kit you just have to get them added to the existing system. It's an option on their system. But most dont get it. I like my system without them plus it looks bad ass not being all crowded with the mufflers This wouldnt be the AFM would it.sorry did not remember if this is LS3 or L99
