My brother's father in law has had a 2011 Tundra since new and hasn't had any issues with it.. Besides crashing it 3-4 times. That's as much as I can say as I've never been in it. My brother said my truck rides better.

Both are probably equally as bad on gas lol, at least you get the quality with the Yota, I've owned 2 Nissan trucks and it was 2 too many.

I have a 2014 Tundra, got it the first week the redesigned ones hit the lot. I love my truck it is a work horse, I pull my bass boat with it 30-40 times a year and I put a plow on it second winter I had it. Because I do a lot plowing and towing with it I do the transmission and rearend fluid changes every 2 years or 50K miles. It is a bit of a gas hog I get 13.5-15 mpg depending how much towing I do and how long I let it run with the remote start I put in. But what do you expect with a 5.7 liter and a 4.10 rearend in it, its meant to be used as a truck doing real truck things. I have a 2015 Chevy 2500 for my business as a shop truck and I tried towing with that one weekend and my tundra pulls better has way more guts, only part on chevy 2500 that felt better was tranny it felt more solid and less stressed when it shifted (which it had to do a lot shifting down any time you had any incline, That 6.o liter motor is just a dog it revs and makes a whole lot noise but doent give you much acceleration).
85K miles so far and I love my Tundra now as much as the day i bought it. I am hard on a truck and my biggest want in a truck is reliability. My 99 Gmc sierra had rear end blow up at 80K miles (sold it at 85k miles). My 08 Avalanche's rearend developed a howl and had hand end play (wheel would slide in and out 1/4") at 95K miles and had to be rebuilt, then at 120k Miles the tranny blew up and I had a factory rebuilt put in. I went with Toyota for reliability. Its the Tundra can't handle m how hard I am then I need to go to a 250 (2500) or 350 (3500) next time. either Chevy 2500 Diesel (because there 6.0 gasser is a dog) for 60-65K or a Ford 250 gas 6.2L for 50-55K. I would much prefer to spend 45K on another Tundra but only time will tell if it will handle 6-8 years and 130-180K miles of my beatings. |

I had a 2011 tundra. I told myself i would drive the wheels off of it but rodents had a different idea. The rodents ate thru the main wiring harness and the knock sensor. Left a nice repair bill along with a nest under the intake manifold. Their seems to be a class action lawsuit with toyota for using soy bean based insulation but
Regardless, the rodents had their way with the truck and I got rid of it. Like I said, I wouldve drove the wheels off but didnt have that opportunity. It was also a gas hog like everyone has mentioned especially after putting 10 ply rated tires on it(same size as factory though, didnt lift). One of the pics of said rodent damage

Ron,
Toyota- yes Nissan - no I had a T-100 and a first gen Tundra. You couldn't kill it. Buddy at work has the cool blacked out TRD Rock Crawler or whatever it's called and absolutely loves the thing to death. Another officer has a 14 or 15 Titan and has been very disappointed. Weak rear and trans. Must have sourced Dodge's parts bin. ![]() Also NO WHITE!!!! You trying to lose it in parking lots 7 months out of the year?!? ![]() ![]()
