Daily Dead Battery
I have something draining my battery and no one seems to be able to find it.
3 new batteries, a new alternator and I still come out to a dead battery every other day. WTF is draining my battery and why can 3 mechanics not figure it the **** out? I need a real solution or I'm actually going to have to buy a new car over what's probably a $5 issue. Anyone any thoughts? |

There has been some discussion on here of a bluetooth phone trying to pair after the car has been cutoff draining the battery.

My bluetooth has been acting funny lately, often freezing up.
My trunk button also no longer works. |

The Telematics Communication Interface Control Module can be an issue.
In the Instrument Panel fuse block you can pull fuse 14 (onstar) and see if that makes a difference. There's a ton of things that can drain a battery. I use a low amp probe to check the milliamp draw. A lot of shops shy away from battery draw issues. |

like Mouse330 said there are a bunch of things that can drain a battery. at this point after going through 3 something is eating through them - you just have to go one by one and find out what is drawing what. have to probe for something because there is something drawing thats killing those batteries.

Find a more thorough and reliable mechanic. Electrical issues on cars in this generation can be a beast to diagnose, so it's my understanding that most mechanics are just looking for a quick-fix patch job and praying rather than systematically diagnosing current/voltage at fuses, relays, etc. |

my buddy had a similar problem in his truck. A wire's sheathing had rubbed off and was making contact with the chassis

Judging by other issue with the trunk release button not working, I would check the wiring harness going into the door if you can't narrow it down with pulling fuses.

^^^^ This, I have seen where the cables from the battery to the front of the car had worn thru somewhere along the line and was grounding out and draining the battery. Find a shop that will, or can do a voltage load test on BOTH cables.

My friends Porsche has an electrical draw somewhere. I sent him a video from The Car Wizard on YouTube. Pretty detailed and straightforward way to find draws in your cars electrical system. Definitely worth a view. Hope this helps.
