Raspy noise in cabin
Hey guys, lately I've been noticing a raspy noise in my cabin. Kind of sounds like if you put a bunch of soda can tabs in to a soda can and then shook the can a bit. It happens the loudest and most consistently on a cold start or after being parked for at least 4 hours or so. Sometimes it will happen even when the car is sufficiently warmed up. I can definitely tell it's coming from the front passenger area of the cabin but can't pinpoint it exactly. One person said it was near the center console but it sounds like it's coming from closer to the door panel area. I really can't tell tho as I'm always distracted with driving.
I have managed to take 2 videos which I'm gonna upload and provide a link for I also have a few mods but I really don't think they are related in this case. My plan is to go to the dealership next week but I would really like to go to them with some information because the dealership closest to me isn't the greatest when it comes to the possibility of them doing warranty work. Thanks for any help you guys can offer! Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk |

Then only thing I can hear in the videos is the engine. But from your description, it could be one of the catalytic converters has broken catalyst inside. Try firing it up at a cold start while listening under the car.

Does your noise sound like the one in this youtube video? It kicks in at 18 seconds into the video.
I have a 2015 manual 2LT. Your description sound like my issue too! Mine sounds just like this video!! |

Mine doesn't really make the noise at idle and it definitely doesn't sound as scary as the one I heard in the video you linked
Mines a much quieter noise so far Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk |

Issue resolved. Didn't wanna just leave the thread. It was a problem with the heater core. There's a screen/filter in it that was plugged up so coolant couldn't flow freely and the noise was of the coolant being forced through in spurts.
