MyLink screen question?

Have a 2014 Camaro with MyLink/Navigation/heated seats. Recently noticed when I start the car in the morning my MyLink screen is rather dim? I have it set for "daytime" only. It's not as dark as the night operation yet its significantly less that the usual daytime operation.

After driving her for a while she snaps out of it and remains the normal brightness for the day.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

I Googled the problem and only came up with problems with screen to bright, not my issues.

Thanks in advance, hoping this is an easy fix!

Larry

does it coincide with headlights changing to DRL mode? do you have anything blocking the sensor on top of the dash (plastic dome that has the red light for alarm)?

I was wondering this too. I noticed on mine yesterday, when I started it without pausing in the acc position for a couple of seconds (I have a habit of listening to the fuel pump priming), it took the DIC and MyLink display a couple of seconds to switch to full brightness.....

Guess when we drive what now amounts to motorized computers, little issues like this are more prone to happen....

No to both of your questions. I actually turned the headlight switch to all positions and it had no effect. Dash is perfectly clear.

After I typed the issues this morning I went back out to drive her into town and she worked perfect? Not that I am griping. Having started her 10 or more times today she was great every time.

Usually first thing in the morning? In the morning I will check her out again. When it's a bit dim all other interior lit gauges are fine, just the MyLink screen.

Larry

At least I am not the only one. When there is more than one there is usually a solution out there!

There is "three" of us that have the same issue! Minor but just a PIA, distracting. Hope more people chime in and maybe that one guy that has figured this out!

Everyones does this to a point. Its based on the response time of the dash sensor. GM says the deferral can take up to 20 seconds.

Wow, never heard about that? I can tell GM that there are cases where it takes far beyond 20 seconds, I am talking a few minutes. I spoke with one GM tech that has not encountered this problem.

Wow a few minutes is pretty long. When I pull into the parking garage at work my radio dims after a few seconds but then comes back as it adjusts to the light level. That whole process probably only takes 20 seconds

This morning I went out and started the ole girl up and everything was normal? Trust me, I don't think I am loosing my marbles, but who knows! What ever it is it does not appear to be a major problem. I would like to catch that little gremlin!
