ipod cable for the z?

Is anyone running an iPod cable from the factory head unit? Is something like that even available? I had one in my C5Z06 and it worked great.

Aux cable plugged into iphone aux adapter.

I don't know any other way, except changing out the stock head unit.

I haven't tried this yet, but I was under the impression you could Bluetooth directly to the car?

instructions I was planning to follow here:

I only have the 1-speaker though, hardly worth it!! ;D

It is a $40 fix. Buy this Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit for Cars with Aux Input Jack (3.5 mm) - Supports AptX ---- on Amazon. Plug it into the aux in with the wire coming out the back by the hinges, tuck the wire underneath the console and stick the round module near the front of the stick shift. when you get into your car, you push the button and it automatically streams any music -- itunes, sirius, pandora, etc... form your iphone or any blue tooth device. On telephone calls you can toogle between the car bluetooth or the BTC450. My bluetooth radar detector also connects and broadcasts warnings through the stereo.

I bought this, the OEM subwoofer, the OEM external amp, and changed my front speakers (no holes drilled) and I love my stereo sound. Search for my user id to find my build. Good luck.

Yep. Bluetooth only works for phone calls. People always have a hard time hearing me. Gee.. I wonder why?

Yes it sucks this doesn’t work.
Anyone know if a factory zl1 nav unit is plug and play? I’m thinking this may a better way to go.

How does this work with the car stereo? Analog L/R cables out to the rca jack in the arm rest, and bluetooth from phone to the unit? Or can a digital audio cable be used to the rca jack? How is the sound quality, and ease of using? Thanks

Yep L/R cables to the rca jack then Bluetooth from phone to the unit, using the cigarette lighter in the arm rest for power. I am no audiophile but the quality is excellent.

The normal itunes and other music playing apps convert the digital signal to analog before sending the signal out to Bluetooth... All mobile phones have a built in DAC... So, the DAC in this blue tooth unit is not being used -- and that is a big part of the price... That is why I am using the cheaper Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit.. Are you using a special application on your mobile device that streams a digital signal to your auris unit ? I agree an external DAC would be better quality on my aif files than the iphone DAC.

At home, I have apps on my IPAD which stream a digital signal to my external DAC, but, everything is hardwired... I do not want to hardwire by mobile phone to the Auris unit.

I assumed it was converting the digital signal from the blue tooth to analog?
