For those with stock headunit and iPhone

Just got my car two weeks ago and unfamiliar with the headunit. I have tried just using Bluetooth but it takes awhile to show as an option and the audio seems to cut out sometimes. I have no problem using USB since I can charge the battery too. Audio is fine that way and I get album art which I like. I seem to have two issues though.

One is that it seems to try to pick for me on what I want to play. I rarely use Pandora but the car will start it up for me sometimes. Other times it loads the standard music player. It never starts with my podcast app even if I was using it two minutes before.

My second issue is that their seems to be no way to pause. Mute stops the sound but my phone keeps going, just without me hearing it. Hitting the power button does stop playback, but when I hit power again it plays from the phone app of its choosing (see issue #1)

So is there a play/pause functionality I’m missing?

Also, is there a way to remove/hide sources so when you hit the steering wheel SRC button you don’t have to cycle through stuff you don’t use? (Like AM)
