Until I can get the issue sorted out with my convertible top, which looks like it may be a while based on my recent dealer visit, I'd still like to enjoy the nice weather with my top down. Is it possible to manually pull the top down and up without causing damage to the motor? If so, how?
The owners manual didn't seem to be much help here. It did give instructions for opening a valve allowing you to put the top up in an emergency. But it didn't say if this same technique could be used to put the top down, or if doing this repeatedly (or even once) could cause strain or damage to the automatic top components. |

I wouldn't chance it. Owners manuals and dealers are useless for top problems. Visit the sub forum on convertibles.
